A. No. All program performance tools work remotely from our servers. Q. Should I submit multiple pages from the same site?
A. In order to achieve the best exposure on search engines, it is recommended that you submit multiple pages from your site. You can add pages to be submitted via your Submitnet program by clicking on the ADD URL button in your site management area.

One way to view your link within the top search engines and directories is to utilize the Position Check tool that Submitnet offers.

The Positrak tool is designed to notify you via email once your site has been indexed on the search engines. The report and search engine score will become available in your site management area by clicking on the Positrak tool. The Position check tool allows you to search and view how well your site is doing by specific keywords. This tool can also be accessed from within your user area.

Q. What are meta tags and how do I add them to my site?
A. Content, title tags and meta tags all play a role in search engine submission. There are several meta tags, but the most important for search engine indexing are the title, description and keywords tags. The description tag provides the engine a synopsis of your site. The keywords tag provides terms for the search engine to associate with your page. Not all search engines solely use META tags for indexing sites. The text and content of your Web page will play a major role in how or if you will be ranked on a search engine. Search engines often assign more weight to the text located at the top of a page than to the text located in the middle or at the bottom of a page. If your page has a main graphic at the top, you should place some descriptive text either underneath or beside the image. Adding a few keywords to the title tag of your site, and adding your URL as a keyword will help.

Using www.submitnet.net as an example this is how Meta Tags should be formatted:
<HEAD>
<TITLE>Submitnet - Web site Promotion, search engine optimization, site analysis tools, Internet marketing and Search Engine Placement.</TITLE>
<META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="30 Days">
<META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="submitnet.net, Web site promotion, search engine placement, Web site analysis tools, search engine optimization, Web site analysis, Web site submission, URL submission, search engine, Metatag,meta tags,linkcheck, server check, internet marketing, increase traffic, website analysis,online tools, website tools, link checker, link verifier, HTML check, browser check, load time, submission software, online software">
<META NAME="Description" CONTENT="Draw quality traffic to your Web site with one of the Submitnet turn key Web site promotion programs. With in minutes you can have search engine optimization tools and Web site analysis tools working to optimize your sites search engine placement."> </HEAD>

Notice the use of keywords in the <title> tag
Notice the use of the URL in the keywords tag

The process for adding in meta tags differs depending on what program the site was created with. We supply the steps for some of the programs in our FAQ section and we provide those steps when the Meta Tag Generator tool is run within the account.

Q.My site uses frames, how do I optimize it for placement on the search engines?
A. Frames display two or more web pages in one browser window. Search engine "spiders" don't "know" which frame to use because there is no HTML <body> to compare the meta tags with to determine relevancy.

Here is an easy tip that can help your frame site get accepted and placed by search engines. One of the best places to enter relevant text matches in your sites HTML code is the <noframes> tag.

The code generally looks like this:

<noframes>
Your Browser Does Not Support Frames
</noframes>

The only text a search engine will read on this page is: "Your Browser Does Not Support Frames". This will not provide the necessary text match for a spider to determine relevancy.

By adding relevant text information, (i.e. the body text and links of your main page) the spider will have a place to determine a keyword ratio. Example:

<noframes>
<body>
<p>This is relevant text so spiders can determine a keyword ratio on my frames site</p>
<p>More relevant keyword-heavy text information from the content of my page </p>
<p><a href="link to frameset 1 ">frameset1</a>
<p><a href="link to frameset 2 ">frameset2</a>
</body>
</noframes>

** Remember, your keywords and description meta tags must also be located on this "frameset" page. This will give search engine spiders and Submitnet's tools a place to find them.
